NANCY PARSONS; a Nebraska native, earned a bachelor degree
in Fine Arts in Acting & Directing at the University Of Arizona where she
had the lead role in an original play, Dancers, which one first place awards on
the college theater circuit, with a premier performance at the Kennedy Center
in Washington, DC. As a single parent she never stopped pursuing her dream.. She preformed in local theater, received accolades and
recognition for film, commercial and print work locally. The “dream of coming
to Los Angeles
never left her and at 55 packed up and headed west.
Since arriving in Los Angles, Nancy has studied at Groundlings, Margie
Haber Studios and commercial work with Daphne Kirby.
Nancy’s
interests are as diverse as her talent. She loves singing, (produced a CD of
her fathers favorite songs from the 40’s) which made as a gift for her family
after her father’s passing. In the 60’s Nancy,
a flower child performed with the group The Thingies and spent several years in
Miami as a
member of AGVA where she danced with the Mike Vetro Show. During her Miami days Nancy enjoyed walk on
roles at Ivan Tors Studios and modeling work. It was during this time that Nancy got the acting bug
only to put it on hold until later years.
Nancy
is an avid Nebraska
football fan and a avid AZ Basket Cat fan, so when
either of these teams are playing; look out, the passion runs deep.
Nancy’s newest and favorite role so far is
grandma to Quinn and Owen. “ I heard this was fabulous
but had no idea the joy this brings”.
Nancy’s
other interests are philosophical discussions, (she is an ordained minister),
writing, nature walks and sharing good food and wine with friends and family.
Nancy
has two favorite quotes:
“And the day came
when the desire to remain the same was more painful than the risk
to
grow. “(Unknown)
“So, how hard is it to let go of doubt, when you see you can
do the impossible”. Ramatha.
